We’re always excited when we find another company committed to the zero-waste and reuse-revolution – especially so when they join PennyRevolution to handle their small change more effectively and environmentally!

In August – in.gredients opened its doors as Austin’s newest grocery store. The neighborhood-oriented microgrocer offers local food with pure ingredients with a community-centric feel. in.gredients’ retail space is dense and efficient, offering over 400 products in 1,300 square feet. The store also offers ready-to-eat foods, beer and wine, and free wi-fi, with outdoor seating and a playground for kids.

Fig 1. Joseph and Christian Lane are Co-Founders of in.gredients, a new packaging-free grocery in Austin, Texas.

Because they are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, you can buy everything from coffee and a Rockstar bagel for breakfast to a glass of wine and a cheese plate at happy hour. At the counter, you’ll find fresh breads from Easy Tiger, empanadas from Mmmpanadas, pastries from Cake and Spoon, Red Rabbit’s vegan donuts and a wall of taps pouring some of Austin’s finest craft beers and kombucha.

in.gredients Co-Founder Christian Lane found Penny Revolution online by searching Google for “reusable coin wrappers”. He didn’t know if such a product existed, but felt it should. Low and behold, this web search led to PennyRevolution.com, the world’s only maker of reusable coin rollers.  Lane immediately placed a large order for our recycled, reusable, and reinvented coin counters.

I followed up with Christian to learn how exactly in.gredients is using our reusable coin tubes.

“We did receive the order, thanks! We’re using these to count/manage money and extra change. We’re also giving them to our employees so that they can count their tips and collect the change in the reusable rolls and exchange them with the business for bills.”

PennyRevolution is proud to be on the cutting edge of reuse in packaging, and to have customers like in.gredients that are freeing the world from unnecessary, costly, and disposable packaging!  Join PennyRevolution and in.gredients as we help create a World Without Waste.

To learn more, check out this audio interview with Christian Lane on – An Organic Conversation. He explains “pre-cycling” which is reducing and reusing packaging to prevent opportunities for waste.
